A sprocket is a gear with metal teeth that works in conjuction with chain, the chain is put between the two sprockets one of which is the drive sprocket the other is usually attached to a motor which transmits power to the drive sprocket. Sprockets are measured by the pitch - centre of tooth to centre of tooth and the number of teeth.
